Gloria and I, joined by Jim and Bill spent Friday night grooming the fresh snow on the Black Mountain Ski Trails.
Below are Jim's remarks about our session. I'll add to that by stating that we covered snowmobile tracks for a couple of trail miles. The snowmobiles were on the trail between markers 24 and 19 and again at markers 9 to 7 and then over to 6 . Seemed to be a lone machine.
All perimeter trails are groomed for skate and classic, including the 4 black diamond hill cutouts, plus a couple of the East/West shunts which looked really nice to ski across too.....Tom will report on Groomer's Blog.
Bill Ahrenberg received his Silver Wings tonight after masterfully grooming & setting track over miles of trail, you will enjoy those nice tracks he set along side the beautiful Skate Lane Tom & Gloria laid down just ahead of us.
The couple inches of new snow spread under the groomers like butter at 17 deg.
The new Alumiminum trail head signs Tom & Gloria brought out are put up except one, as there was no place to attach it. The cure for that is in progress for the weekend. Now it will be clear who is doing the trail grooming at Black Mountain., these sign are just what was needed at the trailheads.
